When: Wednesday 4 April 2012

Time: 7:15pm for 7:30 start

Presenter: Will Slatyer

Topic: Profitable Conservative Investing with Technical Indicators and Dividends

Will Slatyer will present a method involving technical indicators which can be used by those with limited time to safely add value to their superannuation funds. An integrated system of mathematically defined indicators in various time frames, triggered by factored MACD and momentum indicators, produces the strategies and tactics that allow enhanced investment returns. Will proposes that fundamental factors such as dividend yields can be used to filter stocks into a manageable number that can be profitable in slowly moving markets. Then customised indicators can be used to choose the strongest stocks in the strongest sectors. Alternative investments during falling stockmarkets are bonds, short term cash and gold.

Will Slatyer has been analysing international markets since 1965, initially commodities and foreign exchange, then interest rates and stock markets. He has experience as a commodities merchant, futures broker, merchant banker and financial markets risk consultant. A founding member of the Australian Technical Analysts Association (ATAA) and Australian Profession Technical Analysts Association (APTA), Will has made technical analysis presentations throughout Australia, and has lectured on risk management in the USA, Japan, New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia and China. He is the author of five books, the most recent of which was “The Speculative Strategist” published by McGraw-Hill, New York in 1996 and “The Debt Delusion” published by Universal Publishers, Boca Raton in 2008. Mr Slatyer now is an inactive Sydney consultant, enjoying life while researching climatic/cultural cycles, and trading systems
